* Teaching for the First Certificate in English Exam (FCE)
This course will introduce you to the main methods used in exam preparation. It will discuss the key issues that can affect student success, as well as ways of cultivating exam strategies. It will guide you through the FCE exam, paper by paper and part by part, suggesting hands-on teaching techniques and lesson-planning ideas throughout. Within the lessons are videos of real life classroom demonstrations to give you a practical application to draw from in your own classroom.
*TESOL Certificate not available for this course.
This course includes a knowledgeable and caring instructor who will guide you through your lessons, facilitate discussions, and answer your questions.
John Hughes began his teaching career in Poland and was also a Director of Studies for Business English in Italy. He has trained teachers in countries including Malta, the UK, the USA, Argentina and Chile and presented at numerous conferences around the world. He has written many books for students and teachers including Spotlight on FCE (Heinle). Currently he is involved in developing online courses for training teachers.
Jon Naunton worked with the International House organization for twenty years. His work as a teacher-trainer, presenter and author has taken him to many countries. He has taught at all levels, trained teachers, been Director of Studies, and has written a number of course-books in the areas of exam preparation, business English and adult general English. Jon holds an MA in Second Language Learning and Teaching from the University of London and an MBA from Cass Business School, London. He now lives in France.

Requirements:
Internet access, e-mail, the Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox Web browser, and the Adobe Flash and PDF plug-ins (two free and simple downloads you obtain at http://www.adobe.com/downloads by clicking Get Adobe Flash Player and Get Adobe Reader).
Syllabus:
All courses run for six weeks, with a two-week grace period at the end. Two lessons are released each week for the six-week duration of the course. You do not have to be present when the lesson is released, but you must complete each lesson within two weeks of its release.
A new section of each course starts on the second or third Wednesday of each month. If enrolling in a series of two or more courses, please be sure to space the start date for each course at least two months apart.
